Perfect Love

I realized how disappointed I feel every time someone turns out to be something different or should I say, something LESS than I originally perceived them to be. Then I realized there’s only ONE whom I’ve never felt that pang of disappointment with. Only ONE that I’ve never had to weigh rather or not I should still love Him. You see, He is the same now as He was the day I met Him, and there is no fear that tomorrow will be any different.

Divine Appointments

So why do I fret so much about having a five year plan and a ten year plan, when my plans don’t really matter if I’m truly surrendering my life to the creator of the master plan?  I’m not saying that we shouldn’t have goals, but I think I too often make my plans and set my goals and ask God to bless them rather than asking Him what my plans or goals should be. I think when we do that, God usually only shows us bits and pieces, and we as humans just can’t stand not knowing it all.

Facing Fear

It seems toI me that the ultimate purpose of fear is to stop advancement. I’ve spent many years battling the things I was afraid of, but I don’t think I ever really battled fear itself. The word of God says that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”

God of the Small Things

As I was spending some time talking with the Lord today, I began to express to Him how much someone’s few kind words meant to me. I thanked Him for those three words as if they had been a much larger number. It didn’t matter that there were only three words, and to someone else they might not have meant a thing, but to me they meant the world. I thanked God for the small things and went about my day.

Your Voice

There are always a few people in your life whose words mean more than everyone else’s. Whose encouragement and criticism you really take to heart. Those people have been given a certain power through their words to impact your life. As I suddenly became aware of these influential people in my life, God started speaking to me about the power I have through my own words. He pointed out to me that just as He has placed people to speak into my life, I have been placed into other’s lives to do the same.
