Luke Benward - Let Your Love Out
Producer: Shaun Shankel & Aaron Benward Thirteen year old Luke Benward has more going for him than his good voice and excellent acting chops. Sure, he’s had the starring role in How to Eat Fried Worms and was in Because of Winn-Dixie and Disney’s Minutemen - but this talented teenager also has ties to the Christian music industry. He’s the son and grandson of Aaron and Jeoffrey Benward of the popular 1990’s CCM duo Aaron Jeoffrey. Luke, who is now a part of country music duo Blue County also served as producer and one of the main songwriters for his son’s debut - Let Your Love Out. This five song debut serves as a great introduction to Luke - who has some extremely impressive vocal chords for a 13 year old. The album is full of tween friendly music - not unlike what we’ve heard in recent years from the High School Musical crowd, the Jonas Brothers, or Miley Cyrus. These songs are undeniably catchy - exactly what the tween crowd is expecting. “Get Up” is a rapid-fire pop tune, while “Everyday Hero” is more of a giant anthem that someone like Kelly Clarkson or Joy Williams would belt. Speaking of Williams - she had a hand in writing four of the five cuts - and her influence is all over this debut. Overall, Let Your Love Out should appeal greatly to fans of indulgent pop music. It’s sad that we only got 5 songs out of the deal - but with Benward’s impressive vocals and the strong production from his father and Shaun Shankel - it’s well worth it.
