Fred Hammond - Love Unstoppable
Producer: Fred Hammond At this point in his very vast and award-winning career - Fred Hammond knows what he’s doing. The Gospel vocalist has inspired thousands of singers in churches all across the country - including mainstays like Marvin Sapp and R&B crooner Boyz-II-Men. From his days playing bass for The Winans to founding and maintaining Commissioned for many years - Hammond has always kept it interesting. Hammond recently released Love Unstoppable - his first release in over 2 years. Less is more on this record - as Hammond toned down the production this time around - leaving room for the listener to enjoy the meaningful lyrics and Hammond’s strong ear for arrangement. Things kick off musically with the infectious “Awesome God” (not the Rich Mullins classic). “Nobody Like You Lord” is another uptempo worship song that showcases Hammond’s impeccable vocal stylings. “Find No Fault” features a nice mellow groove, while “I Know What He’s Done” features a funk vibe that works well for the Gospel superstar. A major album highlight comes in the form of the already mega-hit “They That Wait” with John P. Kee. Fred and John play off of each other’s vocals splendidly well. The toned down production works really well, and one doesn’t ever notice that programmed hits and over produced tracks are not to be found here. Again, Hammond knows what he’s doing. With most of the tracks clocking in at over five minutes each - the listener is definitely getting more bang for their buck with this release. Hammond’s writing continues to impress with this release. “Lost In You Again” is a heart-stirring worship anthem that says “my search will not end til I find myself in you again…” Truer words could not have been spoken from the heart of a person seeking after God’s will for their life. After all these years, fans may forget why Hammond has established himself as such a powerful player in the contemporary Gospel market. Just one listen to Love Unstoppable and those questions are easily answered. Hammond remains at the top of his game with this release. Track listing: 1.
