Josh Turner accumulated a strong amount of buzz right out of the gate due to an impromptu performance at the Grand Ole Opry.  After receiving a standing ovation and performing an encore - Turner was quickly snatched up by MCA Nashville and released his debut - Long Black Train a couple of years ago.  That recording not only earned him several hit songs at country radio - but “Long Black Train” gave him a big fan base in the Gospel music community as well.  Turner released Your Man in 2006 - an album that went on to sell over three million copies and spawned off hit single after hit single.  Turner released Everything Is Fine in late 2007 and continues down the same musical path as before with glimmers of his faith showing throughout.  Everything Is Fine is a typical Country record lyrically - featuring love songs and songs about life.  There are typical country based songs here - like “Trailerhood”, “South Carolina Low Country”, “So Not My Baby”, and the fantastically catchy “Firecracker.” The album also features Trisha Yearwood on the classic-country sounding “Another Try”.  The musical highlight comes in the form of the r&b flavored “Nowhere Fast” which features soul-crooner Anthony Hamilton.  Turner also wears his faith on his sleeve with “The Way He Was Raised” - a song about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus - playing on the phrase “that’s just the way He was raised”.  Overall, Everything Is Fine is a fun country record that recalls the likes of traditional singers like Randy Travis, George Jones, and Johnny Cash with flares of modern country and pop/rock thrown in for good measure.
