Thousand Foot Krutch - The Flame In All of Us
Producer: Ken Andrews
Thousand Foot Krutch has always been one of the Christian music industry’s hardest working bands. They are constantly touring and putting on some of the best live shows that the industry has to offer. The group is back after a brief moment of releasing FM Static’s Critically Ashamed (the group’s side band), with the release of The Flame In All of Us. One quick listen to the The Flame In All of Us and it is easy to see that this is the band’s best effort to date. This new album is chock full of high-energy rock songs, but the band also embraces a softer side on more of this album than on past releases - and it works well for the band. The album kicks off with a fantastic rock number - “The Flame In All of Us” and quickly imparts more ear candy to the listener through tracks like “New Drug” and album highlights like “Favorite Disease” and the fantastic “Falls Apart”. The quieter moments actually provide for some of the nicer moments on the disc as well - such as “What Do We Know” (with a stirring children’s chorus added towards the end of the disc) as well as “Learn to Breathe” - another slow paced song that shows off the band’s strong songwriting. All is not rosy - as “Wish You Well” seems a bit too awkward toward the end, and “The Safest Place” isn’t one of the band’s most notable numbers. Overall, The Flame In All of Us is by far Thousand Foot Krutch’s finest effort to date, and it makes the listener that much more eager for what the band has in store next.
